Romans
12:12~ rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Sometimes we
become so consumed with how big our problems are that we forget how big our God
is. Isaiah 54:17 says: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper”. No, that
doesn’t mean that everything will go your way all the time. It simply means
that God will not allow anything to get in the way of the plan that He has for
you. Sadly, and way too often we find ourselves giving up on God when things don't go according to our plans or turn out the way we want them to turn out.
Whatever
you’re praying for, Be Patient. God’s delay is not always His denial. Maybe there
are some things you need to get in place before God grants your heart’s
desires. For example, if you’re praying for a husband, maybe there are some
things you need to work on within yourself before God can unite you with the
man of your dreams. Maybe you're praying for a financial breakthrough. God
hears you, but sometimes we have to learn to be happy with what we have before
God will give us more.
Whatever you're faced with, please know that God has not given up on you, so please
don’t give up on Him!
I had the
pleasure of having a conversation with a young lady the other day whom I've mentored for the past couple of years and all I can say is “WOW”. She has definitely come a long way! When I
first met her, she was a total wreck! (Her words, not mine) She was losing
Faith in God and was having a hard time with her Christian walk. I remember her
saying that she wasn't even sure if there was a God. Like most of us, she was
having her share of trials and tribulations. But instead of depending on God
for strength, she was ready to give up.
For over a
year she and her fiancé had been trying to get married, purchase a home, and
start a family, but it seemed like every time they made one step, something would
push them back two steps! Well after being with her boyfriend of a little over
a year, He decided a month before their wedding day that she wasn't “the one”
for him!
During our
conversation, she was all smiles as she shared the news that she had just purchased
her first home (alone). She said” I
thank God for my unanswered prayers”.
She went on
to say that now it was all very clear to her. Every setback and roadblock had
been for her good. Just think…. If she had things her way/ the way she prayed
for them, she would probably be going through a divorce right now, stuck with a
house she could no longer afford on her own, and maybe even be a single parent
if God had answered her prayers exactly the way she asked. See, God knew what
she didn't know and sometimes rejection is God’s protection!
I hope this blessed you?
