WHERE WILL YOU SPEND 31st NIGHT?

Hiya everyone.... I know by now many of you will be considering, arguing and deliberating with yourself, spouse, friends and family about where and how to spend 31st night. Here is the thing!!! a lot of things go down every 31st night. For some, it is the only time they get to go to church, open their bible and pray. For others, they will hit the club hard, do some bottles just to get high. While some will just sit back to complain, worry and wallow in regret. So I ask you my friend; where will you spend your new year eve?

MY 2015 TARGET....

Hey fam!!!! how are you guys doing today? hope your day wasn't so busy....... me? I had a pretty busy day.. uhmmm!! I think I did my last shopping for the year today, I cleaned, cleared out and also did some washing too. Okay I do have a confession just a little... I got a little help lol... my kid sis "B" was around so she helped me with a few stuff. That said!! while I was doing some chores, I kept thinking about some of the things I really would love to do come 2015.

MOTHER'S PLEASE RE-THINK!!!

Hey fam!!! how are you guys doing? Fine I guess.... Wow we have two days to 2015 everybody!!! as 2014 is rolling by I think its time some mothers starts re-thinking on the way they care and look after their child/ren. It is however sad that some mother's neglect their children for whatever reason. when I say kids I mean kids not teenagers or young adults who can at least look after themselves.

#BRINGBACKOURGIRLS.....

It was on the 25th of December, I was having I was having lunch at home with my family. After a while, I excused myself to go have a wee. On my way out back into the yard to join my family at the table, I paused for a while just to take another look at everyone at the table. While standing there leaning against the wall, I noticed that my dad was the only male at the table. The rest of us were female...... the female group comprised of my grandma, my mum and my sisters.

BATTLING WITH THE BOTTLE?

Hello everyone, how una dey? So today I decided to do a post on alcohol. Hmmm what's the reason for this post Sharon you ask?..... I saw something today that made me cringe just a little bit so I thought to share this with you  just incase anyone is battling with the bottle here. We all know that life is full of ups and downs, pressures from all corners pushes people into certain things they ought not to be involved in. A lot of people (both young and old) have been driven to cling on things they feel can give them relief and peace of mind due to pressure from work, relationships, economic wahala, career, children, LIFE!!!

THERE IS STRENGTH IN DISABILITY..... IT ISN'T ALL WEAKNESS.

"It's time to show people that disability has ability in it. People look at a disability as a weakness but it should be seen as a strength". -RJ Mitte.

Hey people!! so I found this inspiring story and thought I should share.... be inspired.

I have cerebral palsy (CP) but I've never let it hold me back. Thinking back maybe this was a lesson I learnt from my granddad, who was a Marine. When I was growing up, I was never allowed to say the words "no", "can't", "won't" - it was always yes, yes sir!

MANAGE YOUR MIND... MINDFULLY.

What will stop you from achieving your goals, purpose and potentials is your own negative thoughts. Your ability to properly manage what goes in and out of your mind, will set you to the path of breaking through your limitations. You see, in todays world, we often get to hear about financial management, time management, organizational management, waste management and even weight control and management but, we don't get to hear about MIND MANAGEMENT.

THIS COULD BE ANYONE.... YINKA AYEFELE'S STORY.

Hey fam!!! I know it's been a while.... sorry you know the season we are in right now eh? e no easy for me at all. Anyway, hope this post finds us all well. A few days ago (12th December to be precise) popular Yoruba singer/songwriter Yinka Ayefele shared photos of the car accident that crippled him. In his words, he said REJOICE AND THANK GOD WITH ME. The journey started 17 years ago, It was on Friday December 12th 1997. on my way to Abeokuta where I had that ghastly motor accident. it was indeed MY TURNING POINT. "ODUNMBAKU" I will forever be grateful to my Lord. He went further to thank his fans for their love, support and encouragement. when there is life there is hope he said.

WITH A GRATEFUL HEART...

Hey people!!! how una dey today?... I am writing this post not knowing where to start or exactly what to say..... that's how full my heart is. I am grateful for a lot of things and looking back, the feeling of gratitude envelops me. The year is rolling by slowly and as it does, it's only wise to count your blessings..... yes count them!!!... you will be stunned, amazed and overwhelmed at the goodness of God in your life. Nothing is more honourable than a grateful heart......

LET IT GO!!!....

Hey people!!! how are you all doing? hope you all stated the new week in good spirit.... I feel really good people I don't know why to be honest with you..... #inmyBritishacentlol..... OK!! You'all know we have a few days more into the new year right? I have been on a personal journey for quite sometime now... I have been doing a lot of FORGIVING, soul searching, getting rid of non-essential things that have become baggage in my life. Aside from that I doing a lot of clearing out as well..... Am clearing out unfriendly friends, relatives, associates, clothes.... in fact, everything that falls into the non-essential category.

CONFIDENCE!!! IT'S A JOURNEY....

Confidence is the sexist thing anyone can wear......
Hey people!!! hope your weekend is going as planned? Today I am going to talk a little about CONFIDENCE!!!. This ten letter word can make or mar you if not properly used.  So when do you need confidence? Everyday of your life I would say. In this generation, no individual gets out of bed and leaves their home without some level of confidence. Of course you will need one wherever you are headed in today's world where you're being judged even before you are heard.

REMEMBERING AN ICON.....

Remembering an Icon, a legend, leader and a rare gem in Africa and around the world. Today marks one year former South African president Nelson Mandela's death. Mandela is a man that fought and paid the price for what he believed. As an advocate, he followed through not with hate, but with love teaching and living it. Africa and the world has lost an Icon. Madiba your memories lives and it will ever be green in our memories. Continue to Rest in Peace....

MEET INSPIRATIONAL AND SENSATIONAL MS HABEN GIRMA!!!

Hey people, I can't see this and not share with you.... Haba!!! there are inspirational people in this world ooo hehehe... So today I decided to make a little research on a particular area that interests me and "BOOM" I saw this amazing video of Haben Girma. WOW!!! It might interest you to know that mis Haben here is blind and deaf.... she has what I would like to call "DD" double disability. However, she has not allowed any of her disability to stop her. She is a Harvard trained lawyer. She serves as a Skadden Fellowship Attorney at Disability Rights Advocates, a non-profit legal center dedicated to protecting the rights of persons with disability around the country America. She is honoured at the White House as a Champion of Change.

PARENT'S WITH SPECIAL NEEDS KID(S).....

Hey Fam!!! hope you all are having a good day? I found this very interesting article online today while looking for articles for something am researching on. Parents of kid(s) with special needs gto through a lot..... especially "the mums"... I can't even begin to tell you guys my mums story (story for another day). Please read the story and accounts of these "super mums" and be encouraged. You are not alone in the struggle to protect your loved ones.
Jane McCready is used to her 10-year-old son being gawped at "as if he were a circus freak" but she will never be reconciled to it. "Children are one thing, they don't know any better. But these are adults. They look at Johnny and their mouths fall open and they just stare. And I think: didn't anyone ever tell them how rude that is?"

Johnny has severe autism and learning disabilities. "He looks like any other child, but he behaves oddly – for example, he might sit there banging two toys together – and he sometimes makes strange noises." Especially when he was younger, he might have a massive meltdown – at the supermarket checkout, for instance. "I'd feel 300 pairs of eyes on us – all watching us, all judging us for being disruptive and difficult," says Jane.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITY......

Hey people, I know this post is coming a little bit late that's because I waited to see bow buzzing and attention grabbing the issues of disability can get. All day I have followed blogs, newspapers both print and digital just to get a sense of how important today is to us especially in Nigeria. To say I am surprised is an understatement. World Aids day was on the 1st of December, we can all testify to the fact that it got a wide publicity, you could see it everywhere you went on the day that something an important issue is being talked about. In fact the reporting was off the roof. Campaign groups were everywhere wearing branded T-shirts with red ribbons, even churches and schools were not left out of the awareness champaign. We saw people living with HIV/AIDS on covers of magazines, newspapers and blogs sharing their stories.

Hey people!!! Today is world AIDS Day... Yes it is. It is a day set aside to give people worldwide the opportunity to come together to create awareness, educate, campaign, support and honour people living with the disease and help fight against HIV/AIDS. It's basically about doing something to mark the day. You don't have to be a celebrity to join in this fight...... let's not leave everything to celebrities in our society because this is a fight every individual should be involved in.

Freddy Young wrote a poem after his sister was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer, to encourage people to give money for research into the disease
This is a heart breaking and sad news, one that shows love, care and family bound. A four year-old boy has written a poignant poem to his baby sister who is battling a rare form of cancer.
Ruby Young, two, was diagnosed with aggressive neuroblastoma after doctors found a growth in her stomach.
Her older brother, Freddy, has now written a verse to encourage people to give money for cancer research.

WHERE HAS IT GONE??? I MEAN INTEGRITY!!!

Integrity Quote: Integrity is the heart of character, don’t...

Integrity is the state of being whole and undivided, the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. It's concept is that of consistency and consciously living a life of morals, values, principles etc. Integrity is such a scarce commodity in today's world. People no longer keep their commitments, words, vows, trust etc. Sometimes we forget that integrity is personal. It is a choice an individual make to consistently commit to their job, careers, family, people,.........

HUNTED??? NAA NO MORE.....

Hey Fam!!!, how are you all doing today? Ok I found this quote on Google+ today and decided to make a post of it. Ghost of yesterday or from the past can be used to explain a good or bad experience an individual may have had in the past. It could also mean something or someone from your past that have suddenly re-appeared into your life, bringing joy or less than a joyful memories with it. However, often a lot of people use it as a negative connotation when describing a bad experience.

APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE....

Hey people.... hope you all are having a great weekend. So I just found this thought provoking interesting piece on BBC's google+ page and decided to share it. Life is deep very deep as we often preoccupy our minds constantly with experiences we are missing out on, things we don't have, our situations that we forget how fortunate we are than we give ourselves credit for. Some people will give an arm and a leg to have the things you take for granted.

We have t start renewing our minds and become more grateful and appreciative of the things we have the blessings we receive every now and then. Don't forget that most of the things you take for granted is someone's prayer point. Pause for a moment and take a good look around you, you will definitely find something, endless things to be grateful for. Sometimes, we really do not know how good we have it until it's gone....... Learn to appreciate life in general, love, live and thrive.......  See everything you have, everything happening right now as a blessing. Don't also fail to help and support those going through life stuff..... BLESSINGS!!!!

He was born on the 10th of October weighing more than 3kg...... Yes he is a big baby I know...... The good thing is Mother, Baby and Father are all doing well. God be praised..... I will bring you guys better photograph of him biko..... ha am such a bad photographer.

I can't wait to start spoiling him silly....... He has brought so much joy and happiness to our family.... Waooo it's so nice to see everyone happy....... Hmmmm did I even mention to you that my K baby is our first nephew and our parents first grandchild? he has four aunties... yes oo 1,2,3,4!!! and two uncles so you see there is plenty "spoilzation" already happening around him. everyone in the family already has a name for him...... I gave him Chikaima which means ***it's God we know***....
Indeed, it has been God all the while and we give him all the praise. "Chikaima is such a cutie" and oh I looovvveee the way he smells......too

So here is my prayer to everyone searching, praying and hoping for the gift of a baby, God will answer you, He will come through for you at his own time, He will course the cry of babies to be heard from your household and may your quiver be filled with babies... male and female...... and may He bring you joy and happiness as He has brought to my family in Jesus Mighty Name Amen...

Now let me go back to my OMUGWO duties..... will be right back.

PARALYZED BRIDE WALKS AT HER WEDDING........

A young woman named Gina Giaffoglione a former gymnast was involved in a car accident that left her paralysed from the belly button down. She told her dad and close family members her dream was to walk down aisle arm in arm with her dad. It was indeed a perfect day for a wedding for the newlyweds as the bride took both family and friend by surprise when she walked down the aisle. Dreams do come through........ Just keep hope alive and do it no matter what.......

"I told her, whether we roll down that aisle or whether we walk down that aisle, we are going to do this. It's been her dream. It is obviously a dad's dream of having the honor of walking your daughter down the aisle". her dad said.
Be inspired......... take that bold step cos anything is possible.

THOU SHALL NOT PITY ME.....

Hey people, today I want to talk about the word "Pity". In today's world people often look for opportunities to show the world how moral, compassionate and tenderhearted they can be. you don't have to have a physical disability to be felt sorry for. in fact "pity" according to dictionary.com is defined as "Sympathethic or kindly sorrow evocked by the suffering, distress or misfortune of another, often leading one to give relief or aid or to show mercy".

Last year summer I visited home from the UK to carry out research for my final project in school and of course to see my family members whom I have not seen in almost three years. My older sister got married while I was away so I was excited to meet and bound with my new in-law.  He came to the airport to pick me up with my sister and they took me straight to their house so the bounding can begin......... hmmmmm without seeing my papa and mama oooo? see me see kidnaping hehehe.....

CONGRATULATIONS NIGERIA..... #MYDREAMFORNIGERIA.

As we celebrate our 54th independence as a country, I am very sure that a lot of us do sincerely have dreams and hope for our beloved country. We have come a long way as a country however, there are areas our government have not done very well in, sectors they are yet  to improve on and people yet to be reached. So what dreams do I have for my country?

MY RAMP RANT!!!....

Hey people! Today please permit me to rant because I am very angry at the state of things in this our obodo Nigeria. Nigeria in less than 48 hours will be celebrating her 54th Independence. What in God's name are we celebrating? I still can't fathom that we still do not have an all inclusive society, a society that people are allowed the freedom to be who they are, a society where people in need get the support they deserve, a society where we have blurred lines between the rich and poor.................

HMMMM WHAT'S THAT SMELL? PERSONAL HYGIENE THINGS.

Hey people! Hmmm this one was taken right out of my mouth ooo chei. Ok here is a post I saw on bella naija as I just dey wakaring dey go jeje for internet. It is actually a piece written by Model, actor, media personality and singer Uti Nwachukwu on personal hygiene. Please read and work on ya sef if you are guilty. ENJOY!!!

DANG!!! Did that just come from you?
Usually that’s what goes through your head if you are cursed to be seated close to someone with rancid breath or even worse if you end up in bed with someone who has become one with body odour.
Yes, my fellow Nigerians. Quite a number of you smell. Be it body or mouth odour but it has become a threat to social existence in our society because some of you are so selfish and too wicked to bother about personal hygiene. Only money money money una de think? It’s not fair ooooo.

AMAZING STORY.... NEVER SAY THE WORD ***CAN'T***.

Meet Jennifer Bricker, an aerial acrobatist who is living living life to the fullest by doing what she loves. which by the way in the eyes of many is an impossible choice for a career because she has no legs. At birth, her parents dumped her because they felt she was not "whole" they didn't know what to do with her, neither did they know the kind of life she would live. To her biological parents, her situation was just impossible as they were afraid for her.
She was adopted into a loving and caring family where she was taught never to say the word CAN'T. Today, she is living her dream, making wave in the world of sports and earning a living. If she can, you can too.
What an inspiring young woman......... Be Inspired...... No more excuses....

FASHION AND DISABILITY......

In today’s world, fashion has such a huge spectrum and there is a variety of style, ranges, colours and a huge choice available for able bodied people in the society. However, such cannot be said for people living with a physical disability. From paralysis to burns, scars, arthritis to stroke victims, your favourite garment can be rendered unwearable for something as small and simple as a button.

DOING YOU.....

We live in a world where a lot of things distract us from ourselves. All of these distractions range from our family, work, children, environment, finance etc. such that most of the time we forget that we ought to have a life of our own. A life we are supposed to take charge and control of. Some individuals now practically live their lives for others.

GOODNIGHT PEOPLE....

Goodnight people. No matter how your day went, just know that there is not much you can do about it. Tomorrow comes with a whole new light, see it, focus and embrace it. There is always room for a second chance and a new beginning. Put whatever it is to rest and thank God for a better tomorrow.

SAVE YOUR CHILD AND YOU THE AGONY......

Hey people, hope you all had a wonderful day today? As for me, I still can't believe what I saw today!!! People do you know that polio disease is still very much around in this part of the world? Well I saw a case today and it reminded me of myself. Hmmm with all the informations we have around I still can't believe that some parents still find it difficult to take their children for immunization.

Every parent want what’s best for their children, they can go the extra mile to provide food, clothing, shelter as well as keeping their kids safe. Parents know about the importance of car seats, baby gates and other ways to keep children safe. It is sad to know that even in today’s generation most parents don’t know that one of the best gift or best ways to protect their children is to ensure that they have all their vaccinations.

IT'S MONDAY!!!

Nice Monday Quotes Image

Hey!!! it's Monday tomorrow and a lot of people are already frowning. Why do some people hate Mondays? I can't even understand why Oh!! I think it's because they had a very nice weekend/vacation devoid of schedules, Projects, deadlines, getting up early and the pressure of rushing out of the house to beat traffic, to catch the staff bus and all the busyness that comes with "Monday".

INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY..... LET PEACE PREVAIL.

Today the 21st of September is world peace day which was established in the year 1981. Each year, the international day of peace is observed around the world. The United Nations General Assembly declared this day as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace around the world, both within and around all nations and people.

World peace begins with you and me. Let's not be distracted by the conflicts, revolutions and war we see in the world today. Let's be peace makers and keepers, let's educate and promote peace wherever we find ourselves. Let peace prevail on earth.

"On this international day, let us promise to make peace not just a priority, but a passion. Let us pledge to do more, wherever we are in whatever way we can, to make everyday a day of peace" -UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

I stand for PEACE!!!.
