Hey people! Today please permit me to rant because I am very angry at the state of things in this our obodo Nigeria. Nigeria in less than 48 hours will be celebrating her 54th Independence. What in God's name are we celebrating? I still can't fathom that we still do not have an all inclusive society, a society that people are allowed the freedom to be who they are, a society where people in need get the support they deserve, a society where we have blurred lines between the rich and poor.................

HMMMM WHAT'S THAT SMELL? PERSONAL HYGIENE THINGS.
Hey people! Hmmm this one was taken right out of my mouth ooo chei. Ok here is a post I saw on bella naija as I just dey wakaring dey go jeje for internet. It is actually a piece written by Model, actor, media personality and singer Uti Nwachukwu on personal hygiene. Please read and work on ya sef if you are guilty. ENJOY!!!
DANG!!! Did that just come from you?
Usually that’s what goes through your head if you are cursed to be seated close to someone with rancid breath or even worse if you end up in bed with someone who has become one with body odour.
Yes, my fellow Nigerians. Quite a number of you smell. Be it body or mouth odour but it has become a threat to social existence in our society because some of you are so selfish and too wicked to bother about personal hygiene. Only money money money una de think? It’s not fair ooooo.
AMAZING STORY.... NEVER SAY THE WORD ***CAN'T***.
Meet Jennifer Bricker, an aerial acrobatist who is living living life to the fullest by doing what she loves. which by the way in the eyes of many is an impossible choice for a career because she has no legs. At birth, her parents dumped her because they felt she was not "whole" they didn't know what to do with her, neither did they know the kind of life she would live. To her biological parents, her situation was just impossible as they were afraid for her.
She was adopted into a loving and caring family where she was taught never to say the word CAN'T. Today, she is living her dream, making wave in the world of sports and earning a living. If she can, you can too.

FASHION AND DISABILITY......
In
today’s world, fashion has such a huge spectrum and there is a variety of
style, ranges, colours and a huge choice available for able bodied people in
the society. However, such cannot be said for people living with a physical
disability. From paralysis to burns, scars, arthritis to stroke victims, your
favourite garment can be rendered unwearable for something as small and simple
as a button.
DOING YOU.....
We live
in a world where a lot of things distract us from ourselves. All of these
distractions range from our family, work, children, environment, finance etc.
such that most of the time we forget that we ought to have a life of our own. A
life we are supposed to take charge and control of. Some individuals now
practically live their lives for others.

GOODNIGHT PEOPLE....
Goodnight people. No matter how your day went, just know that there is not much you can do about it. Tomorrow comes with a whole new light, see it, focus and embrace it. There is always room for a second chance and a new beginning. Put whatever it is to rest and thank God for a better tomorrow.

SAVE YOUR CHILD AND YOU THE AGONY......
Hey people, hope you all had a wonderful day today? As for me, I still can't believe what I saw today!!! People do you know that polio disease is still very much around in this part of the world? Well I saw a case today and it reminded me of myself. Hmmm with all the informations we have around I still can't believe that some parents still find it difficult to take their children for immunization.
Every
parent want what’s best for their children, they can go the extra mile to
provide food, clothing, shelter as well as keeping their kids safe. Parents
know about the importance of car seats, baby gates and other ways to keep children
safe. It is sad to know that even in today’s generation most parents don’t know
that one of the best gift or best ways to protect their children is to ensure
that they have all their vaccinations.

IT'S MONDAY!!!
Hey!!! it's Monday tomorrow and a lot of people are already frowning. Why do some people hate Mondays? I can't even understand why Oh!! I think it's because they had a very nice weekend/vacation devoid of schedules, Projects, deadlines, getting up early and the pressure of rushing out of the house to beat traffic, to catch the staff bus and all the busyness that comes with "Monday".
INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY..... LET PEACE PREVAIL.
Today the 21st of September is world peace day which was established in the year 1981. Each year, the international day of peace is observed around the world. The United Nations General Assembly declared this day as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace around the world, both within and around all nations and people.
World peace begins with you and me. Let's not be distracted by the conflicts, revolutions and war we see in the world today. Let's be peace makers and keepers, let's educate and promote peace wherever we find ourselves. Let peace prevail on earth.
"On this international day, let us promise to make peace not just a priority, but a passion. Let us pledge to do more, wherever we are in whatever way we can, to make everyday a day of peace" -UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
I stand for PEACE!!!.

FINDING HUMOR IN YOUR SITUATION........WATCH TOMMY EDISON
In this elevating and inspiring YouTube video, Tommy Edison reveals how a silver lining can be found even in the darkest of clouds.
Tommy Edison has been blind
since birth and though many see his blindness as a debilitating disadvantage,
he insists that there are many benefits that come with being sightless.
YOUR LOVE STORY...
In life, it is our experiences that define us rather than our disability. Love story for persons living with any for of disability is interesting as it tends to open your eyes to a whole new dimension of how love really works. we all know the heart pounding feeling, the butterfly in our stomach the nerves clucking, the shaky hands and feet etc. everyone experiences when the one you love is around. This I must say is different for persons with a disability man or woman.

IT'S A RAMP!!!!
The provision of easy entry to buildings and vehicles for people with disabilities shouldn't be a difficult task. This makes movement easy and convenient for persons living with a disability. We also take pride in moving around ourselves with little or no assistance. It is sad to say that the reverse is the case when it comes to accessing public buildings/places like schools, churches, banks, eatery/restaurants, roads etc. in our society. Hmmm this feeling is very sad and degrading.
This write up is motivated by a friend's recent Facebook post. Godstime is a friend of mine who happens to be one of the many wheelchairs users we have in Nigeria. Seeing the post below on his Facebook wall angered me because I totally understand what he was feeling at the time he made the post. I may not be a wheelchair user, but this is totally my business as I also live with a disability and share in the pain of our inability to access public places in this country.

BIRTHDAY THOUGHTS.....
Hey people, hope you all are doing great today? I just wanted to take a few moment to share some of my birthday thoughts with you guys. After all, Facebook dey often ask us what's on our mind? So here's what's on my mind this morning.
My birthday is in a few days and on every occasion, I take out time to reflect on certain things that has been happening. For the most part of my life, I dreaded celebrating or even recognizing that I am a year older. However, I feel different this time. I feel calm, more matured, relaxed and very comfortable in my own skin. I feel like having come a very long way to where am at presently, nothing else matters. Through persistence I have achieved a lot for myself much more than anyone could have imagined. I may not be where I really want to be, but I am very far form where I thought I'd be at this stage of my life.
People used to tell me in the past that my dreams where too big for me. they would often say Sharon, how on earth do you hope to achieve all this stuff your planning to achieve? Then they would remind me of my poor background, my lack of finance and of course my disability. Isn't it funny how people can limit you with words, their looks, attitude and even make up excuses for you just because they don't see what you see?

OH THAT HUG!!!
It was a beautiful Saturday morning how can I ever forget. I woke up as usual and got dressed for work (I had a report due for Monday to finish). All dressed up but within me I know all was not well with my heart. I struggled the whole of that week at work. I was going through stuff I had to make a decision, a life changing one for that matter one of the hardest I have had to make to this day. As I walked out of the compound where I lived, I didn't notice I was walking in the opposite direction. where in God's name am I going to? this is not the direction to the bus stop as I pondered, I looked up and saw Nengi's house (Nengi is my friend). I can't tell you what I was doing there that morning because I was not supposed to be there. well here I am I said to myself and walked right into her room.
As I walked in, I saw a big bowl of well prepared pap a.k.a AKAMU smoldered in rich evaporated peak milk with fried plantain and egg by the side. Hmmmm that was not why I was there, I was broken and in need of something I myself don't know. Immediately she saw me, she said "my friend I know you didn't get any sleep last night" she walked up to me and gave me the biggest hug ever.
WELCOME! WELCOME!! WELCOME!!!
You are welcome to my page. You yes YOU!!!. I am so so excited that Sharonifeoma is finally here because this has been cooking for a while now and I am so glad that my dream have been birthed at last. This goes to show that dreams do come true abi? no matter how long it takes if only you don't give up on it. I make no claim to knowing everything, but as a woman with a big mouth and strong opinion, I do feel like this space is the right stage for me to air out my views and opinions on disability and social issues that interests me. It's actually fine if you don't agree with me.
I am a dreamer and a story teller (so expect a lotta gist). Here @ Sharonifeoma, I will be expressing myself a lot more than I have done in the past. I will be blogging/vlogging to show, encourage, motivate and inspire people on how to cope and thrive through life challenges (It's not gonna be just about me trust me) and social issues affecting us all. I am not the best writer in the world (I can only try) but, writing and talking helps me release my true stories in the hope that my experiences will help my audience stay strong, thrive and live life to the full in the face of any circumstances.
Topics treated here will vary depending on what interests me (and of course suggestions) everything on here are my opinion (except features which will be acknowledged) however, your suggestions, comments and constructive criticism are welcome.
At this point, I do not understand what I have gotten myself into ooo but, you are very welcome to comment, email, share, subscribe and follow me on all my social media handles. Don't like it, Don't comment. Simples!!!.
