My volunteering experience

Team lead/PH coordinator Ms Ifeoma.
Hello guys........ How una dey today? I stumbled on one of the pictures I took in December last year during Slum to school Christmas in a box giveaway. Actually, that photo of me inspired this post so I had to go dig out some more photos for your viewing pleasure lol.
Okay Slum2school Africa is a project that has been going on for a while however, last December was the very first time it came to the city of Port-Harcourt under the leadership of this beautiful lady Ifeoma Arua who happens to be my name sake Let me brag about that lol.....

Some of the wrapped gifts.

One of many S2S beneficiary

I gained a lot from that experience because it was my first time serving as a volunteer in any project in Nigeria and to be honest, it was fun.... fun.... fun.. all the way. I also got to meet and networked with some amazing people, made new friends *in my head* and learnt a thing or two about community building, giving and friendship. It was also an opportunity to sit back, reminisce on how blessed and privileged I am, not to take anything for granted and to always be thankful to God for His blessings.

Santa and the kids...... we had loads of them.
We visited two communities in Rivers State on the day. We went to Marine base water front and Bundu waterside and together, we ministered to well over 3,000 children. Amazing! The funny thing about it all was that we didn't even have up to that number of gifts with us. We only used our initiative, improvised and changed plans a couple of time to achieve our goal on the day. At the end of it all, through all the pushing and screaming, we did our job and everyone was happy........ No bone was broken, non was rushed to the hospital and non was kidnapped...... Hallelujah!!!

It's fun time people

We worked hard and played very hard too

People on a mission..... Can you spot me?
Will I do this again? YESSSS... Volunteering can be very gratifying, rewarding and has proven over time to be a great way of meeting and networking with individuals from different works of life, working as professionals or doing their own thing........ people you would not have met on a normal day. It is also a time to share and invest various skills, talents and energy towards achieving a common goal. I will advise you to volunteer when you have an opportunity to do so. I loved the experience and I am sure you too will love it.

Beautiful people. See me ooo na mi wear black T shirt.

Have a great day people............ Kisses
Sharonxxx
