A NEW YOU.

Hello lovelies, hope you are having a great day. I just want to share a bit of what I learnt in church today with you.

You know it's a new year and every new year, people make changes in their lives. Majority of individuals draw up a list of what should go, change and leave their life for good in  the new year. This most times is what we call "New Year Resolution (s)" right? Okay! the sad part of it all is that majority of us don't follow through, we get tired even before we started and in the end, we abandon everything and just carry on with outlives..... 

Today, I learnt that a 'New You' starts with God. It is not like the long list of things we often draw up to change and do in the new year. A new you is a conscious work with God. It's about you understanding and coming to terms with the fact that He is God your creator whose will and wish for your life is to give you a future and a hope. 

See, there won't be any need for a new you if the old you was self sufficient. A new you will have to focus on the things that God has for you this new year. It will not happen automatically. you will have to see yourself first as God sees you, by doing this, you are walking in agreement with God's word for your life. 

Listen, God's will for your life is good, pleasing and perfect. To enjoy a new you, you will need

1. A new name. A new name is symbolic to your reality. Forget about what people called you in the past. Forget what who you used to be and answer your new name. God says you are blessed because a new name comes with blessings and redemption.
2. You have to acknowledge a new purpose and destiny in Christ. look there is more to you than the world around you are currently experiencing right now. Acknowledge God's purpose and destiny for your life and watch God turn your life around.
3. You have a new FUTURE!! how exciting is that? Knowing that you have a future in God gives peace and assurance that everything will be fine. It means that God's got your back.

To enjoy the above, you have to CHANGE the way you THINK. Change the way you think about 

• God................................. He is a covenant and faithful God.
• You...........No matter what label people have put on you, see yourself as God sees you.
• Circumstances................ Always expect something good to come out of any given situation. see yourself coming out of it all because it's a new you.

Remember, God will only transform you to the degree that you let Him. Trash the long list and  Embrace the NEW YOU in God.
