What to do in difficult TIMES.

Hey Guys!
It's another Monday and here we are standing tall irrespective of the way our economy is right now....... No fuel (It  is in fact selling at #270 - #300 right now in PH) no electricity, bad roads, unemployment everywhere, Doctors and other health workers are going on strike hmmm hardship every where. SAD!!!
So to brighten up our day and lighten the mood for a good start, I thought to share this great message from the senior pastor of The Kings Assembly (My Church) Pastor Chris Ugoh. I took off the church Sunday bulletin and I hope it blesses you.
Psalm 9:9-10 "The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know your name will put their trust in you; For you, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you".

Everybody, rich or poor, believer or non-believer must go through difficult times in life. There is no phases of life that's devoid of difficult times. You will be adversely affected by difficult times when you do not accept that they will always come. Psalm 34:19 points out that the believer experiences many difficulties. Rather than complain when things are tough, you must get God's view of
challenges and develop yourself to live victoriously. The confidence the believer has in difficult times is that God is with him always (Psalm 46:1).

SOME CAUSES OF LIFE'S DIFFICULTIES ARE:

- Human error

Humans are limited in understanding. This could lead to errors in judgement and from there to bad situations.

- Satanic attacks

Satan's primary role is to steal, kill and destroy. So he orchestrates some difficult situations and attacks the believer because of his/her allegiance to God.

- Evil people

There are people with evil hearts everywhere, even in church. Not everyone has good intentions. There is no difficulty that you and God cannot overcome together (Psalm 34:19). You only get defeated when you abandon God and try to do life on your own. In difficult times, our hearts seek for what or whom to lean on.

HERE ARE SOME THINGS WE PUT OUR TRUST IN:

Our strength and abilities

Sometimes, we are deceived that we are able to cope on our own because we have a measure of expertise in an area or because we don't know how to ask for help. We need God always (2 Corinthians 1:9). In difficult times, trust in God not yourself.

Money

Money is an aid but it cannot solve every difficulty. Some challenges drain us completely. At such times, money cannot provide us any solution. Only God can.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IN DIFFICULT TIMES?

1. Call on God
This is a mark of humility. It is a recognition that God is your helper. To call on Him is to pray, to cry and speack to Him (Psalm 34:17). God has promised that he will hear us when we call.

2. Listen more to the word of God and hide it in your heart.

Take time to listen to the word of God daily, over and over again. Do not wait until things are falling apart before you wok at building up your faith.

3. Dont let fear grip your heart

Fear is a tool the enemy uses against us, especially in difficult times. Once we are fearful, we take wrong steps and go out of the will of God. Fear is not of God and so we must not allow it get hold of us.

4. Confess God's promises to you.

This serves as a reminder of what God can and will do in your life no matter the season or challenges you may be facing.

5. Arrest negative thoughts

Negative thoughts damage you. You must cast them down the moment they come up in your mind, rather than feed them.
